The Indian two-wheeler giant has recently entered into an agreement with KTM, under which Bajaj will launch KTM's global portfolio bikes in the Indian market. By launching this bike in the country, the company aims to increase the number of the global portfolio vehicles in the Indian market. According to Mr. Rajiv Bajaj, MD of Bajaj Auto, From 2012 onwards, whatever vehicle the company will build would be three generation ahead of what it has today. That means not only better interiors but also new set of engines and transmissions as well, he added.
The other KTM bikes which are expected to hit the Indian market includes premium segment bikes like KTM Power Sports AG and three-wheeler passenger vehicles like RE. The RE series of passenger vehicles will mark KTM's debut in the three-wheeler segment in the Indian market
